A-10 Cuba for PC

If you want a challenging flight simulation game for your PC then A-10 Cuba is the one to purchase.  The low price does warrant a red flag to some issues, but after getting a taste of it ourselves the game is as action packed as we've seen.  Are you ready to sit in the cockpit and maneuver a jet through twelve missions ultimately becoming the best pilot ever?  If so then get ready for the pros and cons for this PC game.

Newbies and Intermediate Players

Hey, this game is a difficult one to work due to the lack of tutorials throughout the game.  They offer an online help section with instructional text, but we recommend printing it out before playing.  If you don't and you're reading everything over the game will start over after a certain amount of time.  This can be very irritating especially if you've reached a certain level in the game and get kicked off.

The Graphics

In this new technology era it's hard to out do other games with graphic design and A-10 Cuba falls short for the most part as well.  However, the actual cockpit is draped with clarity like we've never seen before until now.  All of the controls and the simulation rate itself runs very smoothly and while the planes look pretty good, don't expect them to take on the same feel of an Xbox 360 or PS 3 engine.

What It's Missing

One thing you'll find a little odd when playing this flight simulation game is the lack of common sense reality.  Unfortunately there isn't a way to talk to your wingman, which is definitely important when flying a jet and even more so when getting assigned missions.  Earlier we spoke about the missions you can play within the game. 

While they are extremely exciting and will keep your adrenaline rushing, there isn't a campaign mode.  So the only they you will accomplish is each of the twelve missions.  This is another area we found to be different because most simulated aerial games offer a plethora of missions built into a storyline.  You can still have fun blowing up tanks and various oppositions, but don't expect it to mean anything except for being successful.  Last but certainly not least is the missing mission editor you find in most other games similar to this one.

The Benefits of Variety

On most games played whether it's the internet or video versions, it will only play out one way.  Before, we talked about the lack of a storyline or accomplishment features, but with this game there is a difference.  Even though the missions don't have any benefits towards becoming an ace fighter pilot, the endings will never be the same twice.  Enemies will not maneuver and come from the same areas everytime so hours of fun can continuously be played.

What Missions To Expect

We don't want to give everything away with spoilers, but there is definitely a variety of missions.  Taking out tanks, blowing up bridges, provided escort services, and even sending air strike campaigns on a commander's home is only the beginning.  If you're not carrying out orders you’re fending off some of the fiercest enemies any aerial games have to offer.

Even though there are several downfalls, they are all minor.  Just make sure you take the time to learn the controls or the game will be too frustrating.  A-10 Cuba deems itself as the "ultra-realistic flight simulation" and the best person to judge whether or not that's true is you.  So take it for a test because the ability to purchase it at a cheap price is right there for the taking.

The Final Analogy

If you can handle a challenge then taking on this game against a new foe will be one for the ages.  However, anyone who is just seeing a game like this for the first time may want to find a PC game similar with more additions to the game as well as a regular tutorial.  It will make the learning process much easier and give you the best gaming pleasure possible.
