Ratatouille for Sony Playstation 2
Almost everyone is familiar with the animated Pixar movie, “Ratatouille”. At least you are familiar with this full-length adventure if you have children in the family. The PlayStation 2 version of the movie is one of the rare computer games that younger kids and adults can both enjoy. “Ratatouille” in game form is also available for PCs, Xbox, Wii, and Game Cube.
The Sony PlayStation2 “Ratatouille” game is kid friendly and relatively simple to master. Younger children are going to find this to be one of the Sony PS2 games that is challenging enough to hold their interest, but also easy enough to let them work their way through the obstacles without any major problems. There are also a lot of adults who will enjoy the opportunity to actually complete a PS2 game on their own. While “Ratatouille” is definitely on the easy side of computer games, we have included some handy game cheats included in this article.
The basic movie is based on little Remy who is the “hero”. Remy is a masterful connoisseur of food and tries to interest his brother and others in eating better food than garbage. In the movie, Remy battles the evil chefs of the world who are trying to peddle junk food. The game version tends to focus on food raids by Remy and his friends. The PS 2 game maintains some basic contact with the film and the main characters but will not give away the movie plot or ending. The voices are performed by the original actors and this is appreciated by the fans. There are also some cool mini-games that have been added to the basic version to give it a little extra punch.
There are separate locations set up throughout the game and each one is an enticing adventure to be explored. Hundreds of stars are available to be collected and it is up to the players to find every star in each of the locations. The basic idea is to rescue as many special objects that you can. These can be returned to the characters that own them or used to unlock another level. Players enjoy learning how to swing, hop, and jump across boxes and platforms and balance on high tightropes as they search through the different screens.
Sometimes a player will find that there are little mini-games that will suddenly appear. These games keep the excitement level up and they are quite fun to handle. One of these short action pieces might have you trying to escape from the human characters as they attempt to catch you. Being able to dodge and run quickly will get you through this segment intact.
Some of the other mini-games will involve cooking or even sliding. Be prepared to slide down slippery pipes, or a steep roof. You must also try to catch some of the stars for extra points while racing, cooking, and sliding your way to safety. Beware…one misstep and the mini-game will cost you big time.
Most of the jumps and climbs are easy enough for even the youngest family members to perform. Unlike some computer games that require exceptional skill and hand/eye coordination “Ratatouille” is programmed to forgive some errors. This makes the game a great choice for younger players and even for some of the older ones that still have a little trouble timing a precision jump with ease.
The game is fun and provides an afternoon of excitement for Ratatouille fans. It seems as though the added mini-games are almost more intriguing than the storyboard action. Players look forward to challenges like king of the hill, cook offs and the scavenger hunt races. There are a few game cheats that can help you enjoy the fun of these extra games even faster.
For players who like to beat all the games they attempt there are a few tips that can be shared. Knowing a few codes or moves can help you rack up points and get to higher levels faster. Here are some game cheats to use with the PS2 “Ratatouille”.
First, you will need to check in at Extras and visit Gusteau’s Shop. Next, you must select “Secrets” and you will be able to enter the following codes:
• Myhero- when you enter this code you will protect Remy from impact and enemy damage. Remy will still be vulnerable to falls and water.
• Ilikeonions- this is not for points but it has a pungent “cuteness” factor. Young Remy will fart whenever he makes a jump.
• Hardfeelings- Hero Remy will now do a “head butt” instead of a “tail wipe” maneuver when he is attacking the enemies. This catches a number of them completely off guard.
• Gusteauvid- this code will unlock and open all of the moves in the “Ratatouille” game.
• Gusteaulevel- this is one of the best of the gamecheats. The code will unlock each one of the single player mini-games.
• Slumberparty- this is a code that lets you play games at the multiplayer levels.
